RYA Diesel Engine Maintenance Course
The RNLI tell us that one of the main reasons for lifeboat
call outs to both sailing and powerboats is machinery failure. Completing
this course should help you avoid becoming another statistic.
The aim of this one day course is to give you an awareness of the main systems
of a marine diesel engine and the ability to take simple measures to prevent
you breaking down at sea, but if you do have mechanical problems this course
will teach you how to go about getting started again.
The course is equally valuable to the sailor with an auxiliary diesel and
the motor cruising enthusiast. Dont worry if you have no knowledge of
engines or mechanical ability - you will be surprised how straight forward
most of the checks and adjustments are.
