Level:
Day skipper Practical
Suggested previous experience - 5 days sailing, 100 miles,
4 night hours plus knowledge up to the Day Skipper shorebased standard.
On this course as a Day Skipper you will be given the chance to take responsibility
for the management of the yacht. Giving you a real taste of skippering as
you take charge. The instructor will watch over you, but will basically give
you a free hand, provided it is safe to do so. Your instructor will teach
you boat handling skills in a variety of situations, sail trim, meteorology,
pilotage, planning a passage and preparing the yacht for sea, night sailing
and what to do in an emergency
